After a few issues reguarding the use of IRC and the forums the committee have decided on new rules for their use.

No sexually explicit material is to be allowed on the forums and on IRC.

This includes pictures of a sexual nature and/or discussions of a sexual nature.

Any material of this nature on the forums will result in the topic/post being deleted and the account banned from posting on the forums for an indefinite period of time.

Any material of this nature on IRC will result in the user being bankicked/kickbanned from IRC for an indefinite period of time.

If you wish to have a place where you can talk about materials of a sexual nature please privately contact a member of the committee and we will work something out for you.

These rules will be enforced for all members, executive and committee of the club. They have been put in place to prevent the possibility of any sexual harassment complaints occuring of which the committee would be held liable.

SEE Meeting, Dinner & Karaoke
Date: Tuesday July 29
Time: 2pm onwards
Location: Alan Gilbert Building, Theatre 4 + more

We'll be having our regular club meeting from 2pm to 5pm, then heading for dinner somewhere (to be decided on the day) before karaoke! This is another chance to be social and familiarise yourself with other club members. Unfortunately the club is not rich enough to pay for your dinner and karaoke, but it is awesome and fun anyway so you should come along. The more people we have for karaoke the cheaper it is, too. (And it's Asian-style private rooms so you don't have to worry about random people hearing you sing, only your friendly SEEmates who will tease you about it for the rest of your uni life.) You can come to just part of this too, of course - email us if you want a mobile phone number. (But of course you have to come to karaoke.)

We're hoping you're having a good break and did well last semester! Unfortunately semester 2 is sneaking up far too quickly on us, which means it's time for our end-of-holidays event - another chance to relax before doom strikes again.

SEE Games Day
Date: Thursday July 24
Time: 10am - 5pm
Location: Economics and Commerce Building, G11 and G12 (Theatrettes 1 and 2)

We'll have our usual rooms of awesome gaming, plus food and drink. The usual applies with respect to consoles/games/controllers: bring them if you like! If you can bring screens that's always good, too. If you missed out on SEE events last semester or will miss out this semester due to class or other commitments, this is the perfect opportunity to come along, play some games and get to know your friendly committee and fellow club members.

Don't forget to join us on the IRC channel (#see on irc.mergo.net, see http://www.seegamers.net/irc.php for instructions) and the forums (http://forums.seegamers.net/) - there's almost always someone around and games to play. We can always use more for our multiplayer gaming!

Exams are almost over - congrats to those who've finished already, and good luck to those who still have exams remaining this week. With that in mind, we'd like to announce the Next Big Thing(TM):

SEE & WWWA Games and Anime Day
Date: Monday June 30
Time: 9am - 5pm
Location: Alice Hoy Building (near the main tram stop). SEE in rooms 311 and 333, WWWA in 316 and 325.

We'll have two rooms full of awesome gaming, with prizes of some kind (and food for club members)! (The usual applies with respect to consoles/games/controllers: bring them if you like! If you can bring screens that's always good, too...) If you've missed out on SEE events this semester due to class or other commitments, this is the perfect opportunity to come along, play some games and get to know your friendly committee and fellow club members. (We _are_ friendly, I promise!) Advance warning, please try to keep noise levels down as there are offices in the same building and it'd be really good if we didn't disturb people working.

We're also pairing up with the Weekly Watchers of Wonderful Anime for this event - they'll have a screening room and a chillout room, so if you're into anime as well as gaming you can get your fix of both in one go! It's also a good excuse to drag along those friends who like anime but don't, for whatever reason, game. We will convert them.

We've made this event as close to the end of exams (without being IN exam period) as possible, but apologies to those of you who'll already have gone away by Monday and won't be able to make it. (Come back!) We're planning a few other events for the semester break, so keep an eye on your inbox.
